February 1st, 2010 is a date that will live in infamy....in a positive way!! Dan opened for Phil Vassar at Four Corners in Untermeitingen, Germany. Phil's song "where have all the pianos gone", really says it all. How many great songs has this guy written? And to bring so much energy on stage with piano, acoustic guitar and mandolin/fiddle! Of course add Phil's expressive voice and the vocal harmonies of his two buds. Dan got to have a good long visit with Phil and his team at breakfast. Nothin in the world like songwriters who sing their own. Britta T. from Switzerland did an excellent job as the other opener in Four Corners. Good choice by club manager Bill Wallace!! Check out the Great American Country Site and leave a comment about the show in Four Corners! Can You Say Untermeitingen?

With Michael Peterson at FOUR CORNERS in Untermeitingen, Germany on Nov. 6, 2009. Michael and Dan both play GUILD guitars. Michael turned his into a Baritone guitar. The dude in the middle is smiling Bill, proprietor of Four Corners. Check Michael out at his myspace page.

With Tracy Lawrence in 2008 at Four Corners, Untermeitingen, Germany. Tracy was saying, "Brother play my songs over here! Let the folks hear 'em" Dan was thinking the same thing, "play my songs!" Tracy is a darn nice guy.

With the new foreign minister of Germany, GUIDO WESTERWELLE. The Daniel T. Coates Trio was Dr. Westerwelle's opening act in August and September, 2009. All the legitimate parties in Germany work really hard during election time and the FDP campagne ran like a well-tuned machine. This photo was made after Dr. Westerwelle's speech for about 1500 people at the Marienplatz in Munich.
